Megestrol Acetate exerts its effects by modulating the hypothalamic-pituitary axis, exerting anti-estrogenic activity, and interacting with progesterone receptors. It also has glucocorticoid-like effects that help in appetite stimulation and weight gain.

Indications:

• Palliative treatment of advanced carcinoma of the breast or endometrium
• Management of anorexia, cachexia, or significant weight loss in patients with cancer, AIDS, or chronic illnesses
• Supportive therapy in selected gynecological hormonal disorders (as per clinical judgment)
